Puerto Blest and Los Cantaros Waterfall

This tour is one of the most beautiful in Bariloche. It includes sailing, hiking and incomparable landscapes.

Departing from Puerto Pañuelo, on the Llao Llao Peninsula, this excursion offers you to visit the Centinela islet, where the remains of Perito Francisco Pascasio Moreno, father of the National Parks in Argentina, rest, and then arrive at the Cantaros Waterfall. Then, on the way up, you can enter the lush vegetation of the Valdivian jungle, reach Lake Cantaros, the birthplace of the waterfall, where you can enjoy the overwhelming presence of a larch tree that is more than 1,500 years old. It will sail just five more minutes to finally reach Puerto Blest, the place that has amazed tourists who visit it from the most diverse countries in the world for years. From there you can visit the bay and discover the shores of Lake Frías, whose peculiar green waters come from one of the glaciers of Cerro Tronador, the natural border between Argentina and Chile.

Frías Lake Extension

This extension of the tour departs from Puerto Blest. It is 3 km by bus to Puerto Alegre. From there, you take a modern boat to navigate Lake Frías. The particular green color of its waters is due to tiny particles of powdered rock coming from the touch of the glacier against the walls of Cerro Tronador, whose imposing white summit stands out among the wooded landscape, a view that can only be seen from the boat. After sailing for about 20 minutes, you arrive at Puerto Frías, close to the border with Chile, where you stay for a few minutes. Then the reverse route is made towards Puerto Pañuelo
